There has been no rest for the 2nd Year Girls Basketball team. Gaelcholaiste Chill Dara brought a strong team to our home game on Friday 4th. Kildare played well and fought to the end, however the win was not ours on the day.
With determination we faced Athy College away on Monday 7th. It was a physical game from the beginning and Athy took the initial lead. Undeterred, Kildare held their ground and by the 2nd quarter had turned the tide. Athy came back strong in the last quarter, scoring 3 baskets in the last minutes of the game. This was a hard defeat for the team to take having fought so hard to maintain a lead for the duration of the game. However, each Kildare player showed great character and sportsmanship to the end.
Although we won't be moving out of the group stages this season, there is no doubt that this team is one to watch in the future!
