KTCS Literacy week will take place next week from the 25th - 29th of November.
Here are some of the events that will take place:
Literacy wall outside of library will feature:
'Teachers got caught reading competition'
'KTCS Sticky Stories'
Six Word Short Story Competition work by students.
There will be 2 'Drop Everything and Read' slots timetabled for twenty minutes. A library trolley will make its way around to classes before the event. Teachers will put a picture of their favourite book on their door in the hope that this will open conversation with students about reading.
On Monday, there will be a literacy speed dating event for fifth years during Monday's English class--the topic being favourite books.
There will be a Storytelling with comics workshop for 1st years on Wednesday, students will be brought down in groups.
There will be a Six Word Short Story competition, there will be a junior/ senior winner selected for this.
There will be an alternative Spelling Bee for third years.
There will be a literacy quiz in the GPA for all 2nd years on Monday afternoon.
There will be a Quidditch match of Harry Potter fame played in the hall Thursday at lunchtime hosted by Mr. O'Sullivan, all welcome.
There will be a riddle/ brain teaser put on each English teacher's door.
