Our Green Schools Committee had a great year in 2017/18. Our focus was on transport so we invited a guest speaker, Barry Quinn from Fitzpatricks garage about sustainable and environmentally friendly transport in Ireland. We had a Civies day in which all the money went to the charity Hope(D). We recently went on a hike near Tinahely on the Carlow - Wicklow border at an organic farm owned by Tom Wall. Last Thursday we did our annual litter pick where Dr. Mary O' Connor came in to talk about natural diversity and Willie Redmond from the Kildare Tidy Towns spoke about how to keep our locality tidy and looking well.
