Career Events
- 86/126 students have had their 6th year career Guidance appointment to cover self awareness test results (interest/personality /values) , CAT abilities, career aspirations, target setting using Athena, CAO options, QQI level 5 options, Access HEAR/DARE, Grants, exemptions, scholarships, extra application procedures.
- UCAS applications in progress. Predicted grades, Personal statements, references being compiled. 8 students applying.
- CAO Application clinics at Lunchtime Mondays @ 1.30pm to facilitate guided applications and print of receipt
- College awareness week 23rd November 2020 highlighting teacher's alma maters, quiz with prizes for students, teachers sharing college experiences with students
- TY careers module covering Self assessment, Career Matching, Subject choice for LC. Students met individually to discuss abilities/aspirations
- LCA survey on world of work to broaden students’ perspective on careers
- Tracking of past pupils continues- photos on website
- Video clips of Careers in Kildare- careers of TY parents being compiled as a source of pride of the Careers of parents in the school
- IT Carlow & MU Virtual Open days for 6th years and GC in KTCS. College presentations from various HEI’s in career class and at lunchtime for 6th years.
Educational Guidance
- Study skills from KTCS GC video clip on website with 3 additional clips focusing on study. Letter on website and text sent home to 1st, 2nd and 5th year parents reminding them of study skills education in KTCS.
- Skills at Work programme to commence for 5th year
